……. Frequently Asked Questions …….
What is micropigmentation?
Semi permanent make-up is the art of science of implanting colour into your skin. It is putting the right colour in the right place so you can look better naturally. We use the most advanced digital machine available the Precision Plus to place colour into the layer of the skin known as dermis. Because the outer most layer of skin, the epidermis, is always shedding and renewing itself, you are looking at the colour through a thin veil of skin. When a procedure is completed, the colour will appear darker than the final result. This is because the colour is in BOTH the epidermis and dermis. The colour in the top layer will flake off during the healing process lightening the overall effect.
Will it really look natural?
Absolutely! It helps give back what time has taken away and saves you precious time you normally would spend “putting your face on”, you can save countless hours in a single year formally spend struggling to draw eyebrows evenly or eyeliner half straight….that’s a lot of extra free time! plus imagine the money you will save not buying expensive cosmetics that rub off, smear, smudge, and disappear during the day. Semi permanent make-up is not necessarily intended to replace cosmetics completely. Because the colour is placed “in” your skin and not “on” your skin a more natural, softer look results. When you are ready to kick up your heels and go out for a night on the town or want a different look, you can apply as much additional make-up as you wish.
How long does it last?
You will want to freshen up your new make-up every one to two years. The darker the colour, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural delicate colours are often more vulnerable to the effects of the sun, swimming and breakdown by the body.
How long will the procedure take?
You should allow one and a half hours, this ensures enough time for a full consultation, procedure and to complete a medical form. An appointment will be made for you to return after four weeks for a top up, this is important to ensure the make-up lasts and is an opportunity to complete the final look but adding extra pigment to the healed result for complete perfection.
Will the procedure hurt?
Topical anaesthetics have been developed especially for Micropigmentation procedures. These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. However mist people still feel some discomfort, how much pain? On a scale of 1-10, you will usually be somewhere between a 0-3.
